What Economic Crisis?

“This economic crisis is like a cancer … what I’d say to everybody is: get prepared … this is not a time right now [for] wishful thinking that government is gonna sort things out. The governments don’t rule the world. Goldman Sachs rules the world. Goldman Sachs does not care about this rescue package, neither [do] the big funds.”

-Alessio Rastani on BBC

Rastani is a market trader speaking about the immanent Eurozone crisis. My question: what makes America’s stock market any different?

“Capitalism never really solves its own crises; it merely moves them around in space and time.”

-David Harvey

Check out Professor Harvey.

“Everything solid melts into air, all that is holy is profaned, and man is at last compelled to face with sober senses, his real conditions of life, and his relations with his kind.”

-Marx

And from the mouth of my eight year old brother:

Sometimes we make a mistake,

which turns into a problem,

which turns into a lesson,

which turns into an idea.

And have you heard about the protesting public occupying Wall Street? If you haven’t and you watch or listen to mainstream media you should start asking why.

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to One’s courage.  -Anais Nin.

Did I Just Say That?

Friday evening, and boy-howdy it’s been a long week. So incredibly busy. I apologize boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, for the long delay between blogs. I’ve been a little conflicted about what to write, what to share and what to withhold.

My personal life has undergone some changes: Other and I have split. My roommate Mr. White is on his way out. I’ve been spending more time with family and new friends.

I’m walking two or three hours a day, generally in the morning with Miss Jane. We chat about so many things, and often I find myself vocalizing things that I knew but have never put into words. Wisdom: that catches me, their mouth-piece, off-guard by their depth and applicability to my own circumstances.

‘They’ say we teach the things we most need to learn… Kind of like; those that can’t do = teach.

Some mornings it’s a bit like the Universe has its almighty fist up my ass and moves my mouth ventriloquist-style to make me say the things I most need to hear. Quite humbling, though you’ll have to take my word for it if you’ve never had something like this happened to you.

It’s a bit like creating a piece of art. More channeling than something held within the Self. Something straining to  be free rather than growing from within.

I want to share more, be more personal with you, but I still don’t know what to say… so I’m going to go have dinner with Miss Jane instead and search for more inspiration between one course and the next. I just wanted to let you know that I’m alive, and all is well, and I’ll be chatting with you soon
